Connie, A defense attorney still defends the client that he disagrees with. The doctor still operates on the evil person who has ideologies with which the doctor disagrees. They all are dealing with rights. We need the two (or more) party system so that we can get the best available politician. And they have the right to run.
Some spots from opposing parties may be uncomfortable for us to do. The decision is always with the artist. I would and have done spots for people I do not always agree with. (Who do we agree with 100% of the time?) But I will NOT do a spot suppporting a POLICY that I do not agree with. I always place morals before anything.

: It's that time of year again, when the airwaves are filled with Yes on this and No on that. Vote for her. Vote for him.

: I actually turned down a spot, once a long time ago, when the copy was so vitriolic and the run so local, that I just couldn't bring myself to do it. After the screaming stopped, I discovered that I was the second voice to turn them down. The spot aired with an amateur at the mic.

: But only once. A couple of years ago, I was tapped for a whole string of regional spots -- way out of my own region. As the races heated up, the spots started to get a bit more pointed and, frankly were starting to cross my line. But since they were not in my own market, I pushed the line a bit and went for the money.

: Is this selling out? The problem for me is -- that my line seems to be all over the place and varies dramatically from campaign to campaign. In fact, I'm to go into a session today on a state wide spot that is on the opposite side of where I THOUGHT I was going to vote, but ... now I'm not so sure that I AM.

: Anyone else have this quandry with the political spots?
